The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a worldwide certification fibres are at least 70% or 95% certified organic natural fibres. As part of the standard, companies must meet social and ecological criteria.
Social criteria is based on International Labor Organisation including conditions such as access to trade unions, safe working conditions, paying a living wage, no child labour and not excessive working hours.
Companies must also meet ecological standards on chemicals used in manufacture and production, waste management goals in production and ecologically friendly packaging.
